The deadline to find someone who can help schoolchildren cross the road safely has been extended after no-one applied to the original appeal.
A vacancy for someone to take on the role of school crossing patrol for Higham Ferrers Infant and Junior Schools was advertised by Higham Ferrers Town Council recently.
But with no-one applying to fill the role, the deadline for applications has now been extended until June 30 and it is hoped someone will respond to the fresh appeal.
The town council has sent out a series of tweets in recent weeks to try and publicise the role in a bid to find someone who would like to help youngsters cross the road to and from school safely.
The candidate would need to be available to cover two 35-minute sessions during school term.
These would be from 8.25am until 9am and again from 3pm to 3.35pm.
The pay would be £6.76 per hour during term-time only.
Application packs are available from either of the schools or the town council office in Market Square, Higham Ferrers.
Anyone who is interested in the role can contact the town council on 01933 312075 for more information.
