Free taster sessions in dance and drama are being offered in Corby tomorrow (Saturday, September 1) to launch a show which has been created by professional actors and community performers.
Andy Corner from Groundworks and Lisa Byrne, the creative projects manager at The Core theatre, in the town, have been working with residents and members of Fluxx Theatre Company on the production Without Planning Permission.
To promote the show free taster sessions are being held at Danesholme Communicare Centre, from 10am until 2pm, the Autumn Centre, in Counts Farm Road, from midday to 2pm and Hazelwood Neighbourhood Centre, from 2pm until 6.30pm.
Without Planning Permission is being staged at Danesholme Communicare Centre on Sunday, September 2, at the Autumn Centre on Monday, September 3, and Hazelwood Neighbourhood Centre on Tuesday, September 4.
On arrival at the venue, audiences will watch a film that sets the scene of a community that has been created from the imaginations of Fluxx and local performers.
As the performance begins they will meet characters who live in an imagined neighbourhood, including a young man full of mischief, a grieving father, a drunken woman, a soldier back from the war and a priest who sings.
A crisis in the community affects all the characters, bringing them together, and only the audience can resolve the situation. Through conversations with each character, the audience finds out information to help them make a collective decision, the results of which will unfold before their eyes.
Every performance is unique and controlled by the audience.
All the shows start at 7.30pm and tickets are £3 from The Core’s ticket office on 01536 470 470, or online at www.thecorecorby.com.
