Kettering residents flocked to the high street today to pick up a free can of Coke – just for smiling.
Coca-Cola brought its ‘choose happiness’ tour to the town, with people standing in front of a vending machine and receiving a free sample when they showed their best grin.
Trainee hairdresser Holly Ward said: “I think it’s great and really fun thing to do, it’s certainly made me feel happier.”
College student Hannah Isles added: “It’s really good for Kettering, especially in the school holidays when the town is really busy.”
The scheme is part of an initiative by the soft drink giants to get people smiling, with Kettering one of many stops in the country.
Kettering Council’s portfolio holder for regeneration Derek Zanger said: “It’s great to see Coca-Cola coming to the town on their ‘choose happiness’ tour.
“Town centres are a wonderful place for people to come and have fun with the whole family, and this is one of the many ways we’re using the new pedestrian zone to good effect.”
