Corby Council and its partners are encouraging everyone, whether an experienced cyclist or not, to enjoy some pedal powered fun on Saturday, June 25, for the fifth Cyclefest event.

As in previous years, CyceFest will take place outside the Corby Cube on James Ashworth VC Square and there will also be events in the Core Theatre inside the Cube.

The Core will be showing a free pedal powered movie, and they will be looking for some energetic volunteers to keep the movie playing by pedalling on bikes alongside council representatives.

WALL-E will be showing at 10am in the Lab area of the Core Theatre on June 25.

Admission is free but tickets must be booked through the Box Office at Corby Cube.

Local cheerleaders, dance troops and Zumba enthusiasts will perform outside the Cube with the music sound system working only through pedalling.

Other family friendly events and activities taking place on the day include an Adrenaline Alley show, Danny Butler Extreme Mountain Bike show, Have-a-go crazy bikes, free police security bike marking, free bike checks from Dr Bike, and some tasty pedal powered smoothies.

Local councillor and Corby Council’s cycle champion, Cllr Paul Beattie, said: “The Cyclefest is always a great celebration and I am very pleased that we are lucky enough to be bringing it back for a fifth year.

“The pedal powered activities are just a few ways that we are incorporating cycling into our activities over the weekend and more will be revealed over the weeks to come, so make sure you keep an eye out for updates on www.corby.gov.uk, or you can like our Corby CycleFest Facebook page or even follow @CorbyBC on Twitter.”
