Experts are being called in to fell two Poplar trees at Coronation Park in Corby next week.
An inspection has identified movement within the tree’s root plate which is exhibiting signs of failure.
Because of this, works to remove the trees to ensure public safety will take place on September 2 and 3 by an external arborist.
Due to the close proximity of the public footpath to one of the trees the footpath through Coronation Park will be closed on September 2.
A spokesman for Corby Council said: “We apologise for any inconvenience and aim to have the works carried out as quickly as possible.”
