Talented youngsters are being offered the chance to follow in the footsteps of the country’s most famous dancing dog by entering a talent contest.
Entries are now open for this year’s Wicksteed’s Got Talent contest later in the summer.
Britain’s Got Talent winners Ashleigh Butler and Pudsey, from Wellingborough, first wowed onlookers after finishing third in the leisure park’s contest in 2010, before going on to dazzle audiences en route to winning the TV show watched by millions.
Organiser Natalie Cunningham said: “We are now in our fifth year of running this competition and each year the standard just gets higher.
“We had a huge response last year and this year we have five heats with limited spaces so please book as soon as possible.
“We are looking for any type of act - dance troupes, singers, dog acts, comedians, musicians, magicians etc. Last year Lauren Jones, 11, won the competition after leaving us all breathless with her note perfect rendition of ‘On My Own’, from the West End show Les Miserables.
“I’m sure this year we will be blown away once again by the standard of talent.”
Locals under the age of 21 can take part in the contest, which will give them a chance to perform in front of live audiences.
The winner will walk away with £200, with a 2nd and 3rd cash prize being awarded to the runners up too.
The five heats will take place in August throughout the school holidays with the Grand Finale being held on Monday 27th August.
The heats for Wicksteed’s Got Talent will be held on the outdoor stage at the park on Saturdays and Sundays in August on the 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th between 1-3pm.
