A blanket of fog hung over the county this morning and was slow to clear.
Pitsford Weather Station’s daily report said: “Fog hangs widely across the county this morning, locally thick in places requiring some caution on the journey into work.
“This fog will be slow to clear, eventually lifting to reveal some spells of sunshine.
“However, this sunshine will be shortlived being replaced by developing cloud from the west which will ultimately bring outbreaks of rain this evening and overnight.
“Temperatures today will climb to about 5C, falling just a degree or so overnight.”
The weather will slightly improve on Wednesday but heavy rain will return on Thursday as well as a band of sleet.
Friday is more settled but it is looking like a wet and windy weekend.
