Green-fingered enthusiasts will deck out a church in floral delights this week for a flower festival.
The ‘Running the Race’ flower festival is taking place at St. Andrew’s Church, in Lindsay Street, Kettering, from Friday, June 22, to Sunday, June 24.
The church will be adorned with various floral arrangements and artwork during the event, which is free to attend.
Festival organiser Penny Payne said: “To add to the floral arrangements, the ladies in the sewing group are working on some lovely banners to adorn the pillars of the Church, with appropriate texts relating to ‘Running the Race’.”
The festival will start with an opening ceremony at 11am on Friday.
Peformances during the event include ‘Music for a Summer Evening’ at 7pm on Friday, and ‘Songs of Praise’ at 6pm on Saturday.
Floral painting and photography workshops are also taking place from 6.30pm to 9pm on Saturday.
The festival will be open to the public from 11am to 6pm on Friday, 10am to 6pm on Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
