First World War letters reveal toll of conflict

To mark the centenary of the beginning of the First World War, Nottingham Playhouse is to present The Second Minute at Gretton Village Hall.

The company’s first rural touring show in more than a decade will be staged on Saturday, June 7, at 7.30pm.

Written by Andy Barrett, directed by Giles Croft and designed by Sarah Lewis, The Second Minute explores the emotional impact of the war on the men who became soldiers and the families they left behind. It is based on the letters collection from the archive of the Sherwood Foresters regiment.

Tickets are £10 or £8 for concessions and they are available from Gretton Post Office or by calling 01536 770302.
