First Pride event at Kettering's Yards Bar & Kitchen

Kettering's first ever Pride event to celebrate the town's diversity is taking place this Saturday.

Organised by photographer Jazza Wallace and Jamie Lane of The Yards Bar & Kitchen, the Pride event will be an all day party featuring stalls, DJs and musical performers.

All money raised will be donated to Kettering Mind.

Jazz said: “I’ve long wanted to organise a Pride event and felt that the Yards Bar & Kitchen was the perfect place to hold it.”

Entry will be free and children and pets are welcome to come along.

Alongside the entertainment there will be a barbecue, special cocktails, game tournaments, glitter painters and a raffle.

Jamie said: “The Yards Bar & Kitchen is innovative, safe and strives to break down barriers to treat everyone the same regardless of sexuality, race or creed. We welcome all under-represented groups to celebrate equality with us throughout the year at our many events.

“For Pride there are many great local performers, bands and DJs who have all donated their time for this fantastic event and we are also holding a raffle to raise money for the local Mind charity.

“On the day there will be several groups and organisations there to talk through and gain advice from such as a local LGBTQ+ youth groups and local union group.

“We are all very pleased to bring PRIDE to Kettering and we will make it an annual event.”

The event is being sponsored by Kettering equality clothing brand Jewelz Apparel.

The line up will feature DJ Guy Garrett playing and taking music requests all day and night, as well as:

There will be an official Pride after party at Aqua nightclub from 1am. Free wrist bands will be given out during the day.
