Firms in Northamptonshire offered chance to bid for share of £1.5 million

Organisations are invited to bid for a slice of £1.5million of European Funding to support local businesses and communities across the South East Midlands, launched this week.

The funding is part of a second call for projects this year under the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership’s European Regional Development Fund Programme.

Projects under this call must specifically support local access to information and communications technology and maximise the benefits of broadband.

Organisations are invited to apply that can deliver activity across the SEMLEP area, which Corby, Daventry, Kettering, Northampton and South Northamptonshire.

The types of activity that will be funded include business specific ICT support and advice, business support events around ICT and communications and activities to help create business champions who will demonstrate the value of digital technologies.

Funding is principally revenue based and will require 50% match funding, which can be public or private funds. The deadline for applications is 25th September 2015.

Chief Executive at SEMLEP, Daniel Mouawad, said: “This is a critical opportunity to come forward with project ideas that can support our businesses to harness the potential of new technologies and the growth opportunities afforded by broadband.”
