A charity auction held to celebrate the 25th birthday of Corby-based CD Auction Group raised £10,000 for Great Ormond Street Childrens’ Hospital in London.

Donations were collected during a motor trade auction and another offering sports memorabilia and tickets for the general public.

Jenny Pearce, fundraising executive for the hospital collected the cheque from staff at the firm on the St James industrial estate.

She said: “This donation will make a huge difference to families and patients treated at the hospital. I would like to thank CD Auction Group and all their suppliers and supporters who have raised such a generous amount. We use the funds to help redevelop the hospital, provide state-of-the-art equipment and pioneering research, and welfare for families and patients.”

Roger Woodward, managing director of the company, said: “I’d like to thank our friends in the motor industry, and the wider public, who helped us achieve our aim of raising £10,000 and made our 25th birthday an event to remember.”

The firm moved to Corby in 2002 and is a leading online motor trade auction company.
