Three fire crews were needed to tackle a blaze in the roof space of a Rushden house, on Saturday, August 3.
Northants Fire and Rescue were called to the fire at a property in St Peters Avenue, Rushden, at 11.59am, and discovered the roof of the house was ‘fully involved in fire’.
Two pumps, one from Rushden and one from Wellingborough, were sent to tackle the blaze but they requested the assistance of a further fire engine as the fire continued.
The fire was under control by 15.42pm , but the roof space of the house was left severely damaged by fire, and the first floor was also damaged.
Firefighters contained the blaze to the property and stopped it from spreading to the adjoining property.
The cause of the fire is thought to be an electrical fault.
The Red Cross Fire Emergency Support Service also attended this incident.
