Northants Fire Service was called out to a number of incidents at the weekend as high winds swept across the county.

Gusts caused damage to homes and street furniture on Friday night and Saturday morning (February 14-15).

A spokesman for the fire service said it was called out to make safe a road sign on London Road, Wellingborough, at 10pm on Friday, securing it until it could be repaired.

It also dealt with roof tiles at addresses in High Street, Finedon, and Marshall’s Road, Raunds, as well as damage to an exterior sign in the Telford Way Industrial Estate in Kettering.

On social media, people also posted photographs of damage to a roof at Manor School in Raunds, again apparently caused by the strong winds.
