A singing extravaganza is taking place at the Best Western Hotel in Corby this Sunday (December 15) to help raise money for Lakelands Hospice.
The Singing for Lakelands event has been organised by 13-year-old Vicki-Louise Sherwin in partnership with fellow teenage performer and classical singer Charlie Botting, who is 15.
It is a follow-up on a similar event which was held in October, attended by Downton Abbey actor Brendan Coyle, which helped raise £2,600 for the hospice.
Tickets for this Sunday’s event, which starts at 2.30pm, cost £5 and can be bought by calling 01536 747755.
Vicki-Louise said: “After the October event Brendan challenged us to host a festive edition of the fundraiser before Christmas and we rose to that.
“We have a new line up of local talent on board and the event will be an afternoon of festive musical entertainment and carols with a visit from Santa at the end.
“We have had some great prizes donated towards the raffle too.
“We have a series of fundraisers planned for next year and we hope to have new performers on board each time.
“We have contacted most local schools and some are setting up choirs to be involved.”
