Thrillseekers can soon try out Wicksteed Park’s latest attraction – a 310m zip wire.
The zip wire, known as RUSH, has a top speed of 40mph and will open at the end of the month.
Wicksteed Park managing director Alasdair McNee said: “Rush is a perfect example of the type of innovative, adventurous play and excitement we want to encourage at the park.
“Charles Wicksteed [the park’s founder] was an innovator and, although the park has rollercoasters and rides, we want to encourage children and families to use their imagination and have fun in different ways too.”
As well as the zip wire, other new attractions at the park for 2014 include bund play tunnels made of natural materials to encourage children to explore, a Bah Humbug hand-made sweet shop, Waxhands hand modelling and a refurbished café.
The Telegraph has teamed up with the park to offer a number of deals to celebrate the opening of Rush, which are included in this week’s paper.
