Fears over new housing plans

THE first phase of a new housing estate in Barton Seagrave will begin soon after it was given the green light this week.

Kettering Council’s planning committee approved plans on Tuesday night for an initial 122 homes in Polwell Lane which is the first part of developer Redrow Homes’ proposal for a 450-strong housing estate.

Plans for four parks and two play areas were also approved.

The developers already had outline permission for the estate.

A Redrow spokesman said: “We’re pleased that our planning applications for the first phase of a residential development in Barton Seagrave have been approved. We look forward to starting work on the homes in due course.”
