While the beach is open for holidaymakers in Kettering, people can also browse the town’s latest museum exhibition.
The Manor House Museum will host a free seaside-themed exhibition to keep in with the Market Place activities, where people can look at photographs, outfits, and fashions from years gone by until September 1.
From Tuesday, July 31, the Museum and Art Gallery, in Sheep Street, are also putting on a programme of children’s holiday art and craft workshops, as local children have the opportunity to explore the world through 20 different craft activities. A different workshop will take place on each day of the holidays (Tuesdays - Fridays) and a new theme each week.
The first three weeks will kick off with activities taking place on the Market Place to coincide with Kettering by the Sea. Councillor Steve Bellamy, portfolio holder at Kettering Council, said: “It’s fantastic that we are able to offer such a full programme of activities for residents across the Borough during the summer holidays.
“The theme of the seaside fits perfectly alongside our biggest Kettering by the Sea we’ve ever held and gives even more choices to those looking to be entertained on their summer break.”
Workshops last an hour and places are limited so booking is highly recommended. For further information and bookings contact the Museum on 01536 534219.
