A total of 31 families across Northamptonshire have moved into new homes in time for Christmas after new developments were built by a housing association.

Spire Homes has spent more than £2.6 million on affordable new homes this year.

A total of 524 new homes have been built over the last 10 years.

Katy Sagoe, director of Housing Services “We have plans to build a further 700, affordable homes over the next four years. The region is facing a chronic housing crisis and responding to that by building new homes is a priority for Spire Homes. We want to help more people move off housing waiting lists and into quality homes with secure tenancies, as well as helping young people get onto the housing ladder through shared ownership. This year we have built homes in Raunds, Daventry and Corby – where families can finally enjoy Christmas together.”

Spire Homes worked in partnership with a number of organisations including local councils, contractors and developers to make the dream a reality to build safe, warm affordable homes in local communities.
