The FA Cup is to make a special appearance at The Phoenix pub, Corby, on Thursday after it won a Budweiser competition.

Customers will have the chance to have their photograph taken with the cup when it makes a special appearance on Thursday (January 31), from 4pm until 8pm.

The Phoenix, in Beanfield Avenue, was one of eight pubs which won the competition after beating thousands of others in a nationwide Budweiser competition held at the Punch Taverns’ roadshows.

Landlord Martin Kelly said: “While visiting the Budweiser stand at the roadshow I thought I would give it a go and I can’t believe we won.

“We have a lot of football fans at the pub and they are over the moon at the news. They never thought they would get a chance to hold such a famous and iconic part of British football history.

“I’m look forward to the FA Cup’s arrival and I would like to welcome customers to come and celebrate with us and join in the fun.”

Punch Taverns national account director Keith Ellis said: “Having pub events like this are a great opportunity for people in pubs and football fans to get their hands on the trophy – one which thousands of professional players have been fighting for. Nights like these drive footfall into pubs, and in doing so encourage people to get involved and have some fun at their local.”

Budweiser is the lead partner of The FA Cup.
