POLICE will carry out extra patrols at Bassett’s Park in Wellingborough while an annual fun-fair is in town this week.
Officers and PCSOs from the Wellingborough Safer Community Team will be conducting high visibility patrols at the fair, which started on Sunday.
They will be tackling any trouble makers spoiling other people’s enjoyment with anti-social and criminal behaviour.
Bassett’s Park is included in the town’s designated public place order so penalty notices for disorder can be given to anyone under the age of 18 seen drinking alcohol.
PCSO Martin Usher said: “The message is to enjoy your visit to the fair at Bassett’s Park and allow others to do likewise. Although it is only a small percentage of people who choose to cause disruption, anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and we will continue to work with our partner agencies to resolve this problem.”
