Wellingborough people can see plans for new housing, a multi-storey car park and retail outlets at an exhibition in the town this weekend.
Housing and regeneration specialist, Keepmoat, is holding a public consultation event on plans for the development of Jackson’s Lane car park.
The event is being held in Morrison’s supermarket on Oxford Street in Wellingborough on Saturday, November 24, between 10am and 3pm. Members of Keepmoat’s development team will be on hand to answer any questions about the proposed development.
The proposals include the development of 128 new homes including affordable housing for rent, a 200-space multi-storey car park and 4,400 square foot of retail space. The development will also include a large area of public open space.
Planning permission has been submitted to the council and if approved, work is expected to commence on site in early 2013.
Martyn Johnson, partnerships project manager for Keepmoat, said: “The consultation event is a great opportunity for local residents to view the proposals of this new development and to ask any questions they may have.
“We have been developing exciting proposals for Wellingborough and are keen to find out what the local community think.”
The proposed development will be accessed from Jacksons Lane and Oxford Street in Wellingborough.
