Thursday, October 25
An event is being held at Café @25, High Street, Irthlingborough, from 7pm on Thursday, October 25, to raise money for Headway East Northants. For tickets, priced £20, call Café @25 on 07737 846810 or Headway on 01933 652311.
The King John School in Thrapston will have its annual Apple Day on Thursday, October 25, from 3pm to 5pm. The school’s orchard will be opened at 4.45pm.
Kettering Town Safer Community Team have invited members of the public to a series of advice sessions on crime prevention and other community concerns. The first is on Thursday, October 25, at the Sure Start Centre in Montagu Street, Kettering, between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
Friday, October 26
A concert will be held at All Hallows Church in Wellingborough at 7pm on Friday, October 26, to launch this year’s poppy appeal in the town. Mayor of Wellingborough, Cllr Ken Harrington, will attend the concert, which will see a performance by the 60s Club Band. Admission to the concert is free, but organisers are hoping that people attending will offer donations to the Poppy Appeal.
A cabaret night is being held local by theatre group Theatreworkz at Great Doddington Memorial Hall on Friday, October 26, from 7.30pm.

A tea dance will take place at Little Harrowden Village Hall on Friday, October 26, from 2pm to 4pm. Admission is £2.50.
A Bollywood jubilee ball will take place at Diana’s Health Club, Finedon Road, Wellingborough, on Friday, October 26. Doors open at 6.45pm and the event is due to finish at 11.45pm. The event is being held in aid of the prostate and testicular cancer charity Everyman.
Saturday, October 27
A coffee morning today has been cancelled. The event was to be held at Rushden Town Bowls Club in Northampton Road on between 10am and midday.
A signed Manchester United football is among the raffle prizes at a 1980s-themed charity disco, which also features music from DJ K. Tickets for the event at the Royal Hotel, Kettering, on Saturday, October 27, between 8pm and midnight, are £10. All proceeds go to Water for Lifestraw. For details call Mark on 07810 208708.
A jumble sale will be held at the Catholic Church Hall, in Victoria Street, Desborough, on October 27. The day will run from 10am to midday and all proceeds will go towards the church fund.

Tuesday, October 30
The next meeting of the Rushden Historical Transport Society will take place on Tuesday, October 30, at Rushedn Conservative Club, in High Street South. The meeting will start at 8pm. Admission is £2 for members and £3 for non-members.
In conjunction with the Dark Sky Discovery Projects, Northants Amateur Astronomers are holding a star gazing night on Tuesday, October 30, from 7.30pm. This will be held at Newton Field Centre, near Geddington. This event
is free so come along on see the wonderful winter treasures.
Wednesday, October 31
Dress up in your spookiest costume for the free East Carlton Country Park Halloween walk on Wednesday, October 31. The fun starts at 5pm and the walk at 7.15pm.
Pensioners are invited to take part in activities held every Wednesday at Bilton Court care home in Wellingborough. Non-residents can go join in with the activities from 11am. They are also invited to stay for lunch. There’s a £2 charge to take part in the activities and a £1.50 charge for lunch. Attendance must be booked in advance.
