The year nine basketball team from Weavers School in Wellingborough is through to the last eight of the National U14 Cup for Basketball.

This achievement follows the team’s County Cup win, in which they beat teams from Northampton School for Boys and Northampton Academy.

A spokesman for Weavers School said: Along the way the boys have fought hard and been outstanding in beating schools from all over the Midlands.

“After successes away at Longfield School (Derby 58-55), Shenfield School (Essex 86-70) and Copleston High School (Ipswich 75-72), the boys have the final zone game against Trinity Catholic School (Nottingham) on Tuesday, April 30.

“If the boys are successful this will ensure their place in the final fours.

“Well done boys on all of your achievements on and off of the court.”
