One parent got a surprise when she went to school and found her sons there.
Rose Sawford was at Havelock Junior School for the opening of the school’s library, and when she got there her sons Lee and Andy were there.
She said: “I was invited to the opening because I’m a school governor and had no idea Lee and Andrew would be there.”
There was an even bigger surprise in store for Mrs Sawford when she was told the library was being named after her to commemorate her 28 years as a governor at the Desborough school.
She said: “I had no idea and was just so honoured.
“Books are my passion and it is such a nice space for the children to read in, share stories in and learn the joy of books.”
Her son Andy, the MP for Corby, said: “It is a quarter of a century since I was last in the school. It was great to go back and see the changes but also the things that are familiar.
“Mum was overjoyed. She has got a huge passion for books and reading. I couldn’t think of a nicer thing for the school to do to show their appreciation.”
