An X Factor winner performed at an awards ceremony recognising the achievements of students at Tresham College.

Matt Cardle, who won the television talent contest in 2010, sang his number one hit When We Collide and Extreme’s More Than Words at the event, which took place at the college.

A total of 34 students who have completed college courses were recognised as Learner of the Year in their area of study at the event on Friday, June 21. The full list of winners, who each won an award in a different subject, was: Mark Sharpling, Jemma Garcia, Liam York, Bridey Boddington, Stephen Walker, Kylie Panter, Iszak Bellamy-Carter, Samuel Welek, Aislinn Raher, Danny Bennet, John Robb, Jonathan Wykes, Amy Byrne, Daniel Brown. Kyran Bartlett, Darien Bagshaw, Jordan Walker, Warren Young, William Maddison, Irina Brooks, Chelsie Evans, Lynne Hillman, Joshua Canfield, Tyler Crooks, James Sharman, Liam Smith, Tamzin Reed, Ross Michelin, Chloe Cotton, Callum Cecil, Charles Turiccki, Alexandru Andries, Paul Guerin and Andile Sibande.

The ceremony was hosted by Robert Emery, director of external partnerships, and learner representatives Lucy Johnson and Charlotte Mallery.
