Police drug sniffer dog to visit Wellingborough schools
A trained sniffer dog will be visiting all four academies in Wellingborough today and tomorrow.
The aim of the visits is to get across to pupils the message: Have nothing to do with drugs and don’t bring them into school.
Further, unannounced, visits will take place in the future.
A letter sent to parents states: “We hope that the searches will prove negative, and we hope that the exercise will reinforce our strong anti-drugs attitude.”
A local police representative praised the academies and said: “Schools have an important part to play in the elimination of drugs from our community, through education and also through the ‘zero tolerance’ approach they are demonstrating through taking part in this exercise.”
