Parents will soon be able to apply for a place for their child at a new school set to open its doors in September 2016.
The developers of Priors Hall say the new primary school for the Priors Hall estate will be opening next September.
A spokesman for the county council, which deals with school admissions, said they would be accepting applications for the new Priors Hall Primary School from the start of the new school term in early September this year.
Plans for the new primary school, which will eventually provide places for up to 420 children, were approved in June 2014.
The school is being built adjacent to Corby Business Academy.
Contingency plans had been drawn up by Northamptonshire County Council after it was announced that the school was one of two in the area which was not going to be open this September.
With the new free school at Lodge Park Academy also not due to open until next September, the county council said a new learning space on the Earlstree estate would provide new school places for Reception and Year 1 children in Corby in the interim period.
Speaking in February, Cllr Matthew Golby, county council cabinet member for learning, skills and education, said: “We are confident that this building will enable us to ensure children in Corby receive the very best education in the short term while new schools are brought forward by providers.”
