An Ofsted inspection of Whitefriars Junior School in Boughton Drive, Rushden, has praised its pupils for their outstanding behaviour and said that their attitudes to learning “are unfailingly positive.”

Inspectors describe every other aspect of the school’s performance and management as good.

Headteacher Helen Woodhouse said: “This is excellent news for our school. The children are rightly singled out for praise for the way they approach their learning and for their respect for each other.

“In addition the inspectors have highlighted excellence they found in many areas of our school’s life.

“We have a strong platform on which to make even greater progress.”

Chairman of governors at the junior school, Karen Woolley, praised all the members of staff.

She said: “Our teaching and support staff work tirelessly to achieve the best for our children.

“This is a tremendous accolade for all our staff, well done to all concerned.”

The school was inspected over two days on Tuesday, April 30, and Wednesday, May 1.
