Pupils from Our Lady’s Catholic Junior School in Wellingborough and their families took part in a bake-off and cake sale to raise funds for school equipment.
There were three categories: Adults, Junior (limited help) and Junior (no help).
School association member Loz Alcindor Gilmour said: “Eighty various shapes and sizes of cakes, muffins and brownies were entered and there was a lovely and excited buzz and smell of cakes which wafted through the school.
“The pupils all had a chance to take a look at their friends’ and relatives’ entries during the day.
“In the afternoon we invited a local baker from Greggs, a retired teacher, two school governors and a parent to come and taste and judge all the cakes!
“After a few hours we held an assembly for all to present prizes to the winners of each category and the Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 best cake.
“Also all entrants received a certificate.
“We wanted to arrange an event which would involve the whole school and their families.
“Fun was had by all and the money raised will go towards much-needed PE and school equipment.”
