East Midlands Trains customers can claim compensation for Storm Doris disruption

East Midlands Trains is running a full timetable again, following yesterday's widespread disruption caused by Storm Doris.

High winds caused damage to the overhead wires on the London route while other services were also subject to speed restrictions and other incidents, such as trees coming down onto railway lines.

Network Rail, which is responsible for railway infrastructure, worked to reopen the line yesterday and overnight which means a full service can run today.

East Midlands Trains customers with a ticket for yesterday can use it at any time today or obtain a full refund.

East Midlands Trains managing director Jake Kelly said: “We are running a full timetable today, following yesterday’s disruption.

“Any customers with tickets for yesterday can use them today, or if they prefer, have their ticket refunded.

“We worked hard to provide as much information as we possibly could and had extra staff at stations across our network.

“However, we know customers still had very disrupted journeys. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused and we also thank our customers for their patience.”
