Driver taken to hospital after car comes off the A43 near Kettering

A motorist was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after their car left the A43 near Kettering.

Police were called after the silver Mercedes came off the A43 between the Walgrave turning and the Mawsley roundabout just before 4am on Sunday morning.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at 3.55am on Sunday morning to a silver Mercedes that had left the road.

“It was a single vehicle road traffic collision.

“The motorist was fine, but taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.”

The spokesman added that they had received a number of calls from members of the public about the car so police tape has been put up by the roadside to reassure people that officers are aware of the incident.

It is hoped that the car will be recovered today.
