A woman has denied causing death by careless driving in Finedon.

Michelle Frewin, 27, was driving her Peugeot 206 on the A510 Thrapston Road, Finedon, on December 5 last year when she collided with the car being driven by Jenny Tilley.

Miss Tilley, a carer from Wellingborough, was 56 when she died.

During a hearing at Northampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday Frewin, of Monkston Park, Milton Keynes, was charged with causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.

She pleaded not guilty.

She says she had lost control of the car when the collision, which left her with a fractured collar bone, occurred.

Stella Moses, prosecuting, said: “Frewin has said she lost control of the wheel of the car and skidded, but this is inconsistent with evidence showing that the road was clear.”

She will appear at Northampton Crown Court next month.
