Driver and passenger injured in road accident in Corby

A driver and his passenger were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries after the car they were travelling in left the A427 Weldon Road in Corby and hit a lamppost.

The 25-year-old driver of the blue Citroen Saxo suffered suspected spinal injuries and the 19-year-old passenger hurt her leg.

The collision happened at about 5.15am on Sunday (May 11).

A police spokesman said: “For reasons yet unknown the Saxo left the road and was in collision with a lamppost. Both the driver and his passenger were taken to University Hospital Coventry for treatment.”
