A Disney themed fun day is being held to raise money for a little girl who has a brain tumour.
Kaleigh Lau, six, has a rare and aggressive brain tumour and is in need of treatment in Mexico.
Crystal Hoyle heard about Kaleigh through a mum at her daughter’s school, who is a friend of Kaleigh’s family, and decided she wanted to help.
The cause is especially close to Crystal’s heart as her brother-in-law suffered a brain tumour when he was seven, but luckily he recovered and is now nearly 25.
In a bid to raise as much money as possible for Kaleigh, Crystal has roped in her father-in-law Andy Hoyle, a retired police officer, and Dean Warnes who will be having their legs waxed during the family fun day in Higham Ferrers.
Crystal said: “Without hesitation I chose to support Kaleigh Lau.
“With my brother-in-law suffering and also my husband who was born with a congenital heart condition going through hospital treatment I’ll always help when I can.”
The Disney themed fun day is taking place from 2pm until 4.30pm on Sunday, June 11, at the Bede House in Higham Ferrers.
Entry is £1 for the fun day, which will include Disney karaoke, a bouncy castle, stalls, tombola, cake sale, refreshments and a barbecue.
Children can also have their picture taken with a princess.
A Mad Hatters afternoon tea party is also taking place with tea, coffee and juice served with afternoon tea and cakes.
Tickets are £5 for children and £6 for adults.
The leg waxing is taking place at the end of the event and all proceeds raised by the day will go to Kaleigh.
Crystal, who is organising the fundraiser with her sisters Chantelle Hewitt and Melanie Warnes, really wants the day to be a success and added: “Please let’s smash our target and raise as much as possible.”
