Discount supermarket chain Aldi has announced plans to build a new store on land off Saxon Way West in Corby.
A public exhibition is being held in the new year where residents will be able to get a first-hand look at the plans for the site, which is currently undeveloped.
The event takes place at Great Oakley Cricket Club, Lewin Road, between 3 and 7pm on Tuesday, January 6.
A spokesman for Aldi said: “A new Aldi food store would represent a multi-million-pound investment in the local area, as well as delivering wider benefits for Corby including increased shopping choice for residents, the creation of approximately 40 full and part time jobs for the community, additional jobs throughout construction and supply chain opportunities.
“While we already have a store in the north of Corby on Rockingham Road, as well as stores in Market Harborough and Kettering, these are particularly popular in the communities they serve.
“We are confident there is demand for a further store in the area and believe the site at Saxon Way West is ideally located to increase our offering.”
“We would like to know what the local community thinks of our proposal before we finalise our plans. We look forward to welcoming residents to our public exhibition. But if residents have any further questions in the meantime, they can call the project’s Freephone information line on 0800 298 7040.”
