People who live in East Northamptonshire are being invited to help design the future of their neighbourhood through a community plan.
It can be led by a parish or town council, or by a group of residents who are willing to see it through. East Northamptonshire Council will help with delivering actions.
The content of a community plan can include social, environmental or economic issues.
As part of their plan a group or council can create a community hall or green space; design affordable housing for the area, run a local enterprise, like a shop; or take a local service into their own hands, such as a Neighbourhood Watch scheme or a climate change group.
Eloise Lucille, councillor for Stanwick where the village community plan is being refreshed, said: “We’re asking local communities to think about how they want their communities to grow or change because they are the local experts. By working together, communities can make big differences in where they live as well as stimulate community pride.”
