Foodies in Corby will be able to try the taste of a different cuisine after the opening of a new Turkish restaurant.

Meze Grill, near the Savoy Cinema in George Street, was officially opened on Monday with Julie Riley, the deputy mayor of Corby, and council leader Tom Beattie among those invited.

The restaurant will serve a variety of chargrilled meats and Eyusuf Chaudhury, whose brother Islam owns the restaurant, is excited by the new venture.

He said: “We’re really looking forward to the opening of the restaurant as it’s the sort of food my family like to eat.

“Before we used to travel to Leicester or London to get it but now it’s right on everyone’s doorstep.

“We’ve been wanting to open this for a couple of years and it’s been hard to find a shop, but now we have one and I can’t wait.”
