Days of action for Corby villages

The Neighbourhood Management Team and the Police Rural Safer Communities Team will be delivering a series of activities to make villages safer, cleaner and greener during this three-day event.

From 1pm on Monday, July 11, members of the team will visit Gretton Chirpy Chicks Preschool for a road safety session and give children the chance to see inside a community police vehicle.

Residents of Rockingham are invited to attend a police/council surgery from 10.30am on Tuesday, July 12, where there will also be home/personal safety talks at the village hall.

An interactive road safety session will take place at Weldon Pre-school from 10am on Wednesday, July 13, in support of the National Road Safety charity, Brake’s BeepBeep! Campaign.

The team will work with children to create a big hand painting mural to emphasise the importance of holding hands when crossing the road!

Cllr Tom Beattie said: “Our Days of Action events are a great opportunity for partner agencies such as the borough council and police to tackle some key issues.

“Speeding, home safety and dog fouling are raised continually as local concerns, so we will be delivering a range of activities that are designed to enforce, educate and reassure our rural communities.”
