Funnyman David Walliams has been revealed as the voice for Pudsey in the forthcoming film about the dancing dog.
The Little Britain star, who is also a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, will lend his vocal talents to the dog which won the ITV show in 2012 with trainer Ashleigh Butler from Wellingborough in forthcoming film Pudsey: The Movie.
The 42-year-old star said: “I am thrilled to be providing the voice of Pudsey.
“I have been coming up with different voices for him ever since that first audition.”
Walliams, whose sixth children’s book Demon Dentist will be released this month, is no stranger to voicework, having appeared in The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian and new animated movie Justin And The Knights Of Valour.
Pudsey: The Movie, which is being co-produced by Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment, is being directed by Nick Moore, who was behind Horrid Henry: The Movie and it will also star Jessica Hynes, John Sessions and Luke Tittensor.
Producers said the film features Pudsey as a stray who is taken in by a family and goes on to save a sleepy village from an evil plan.
A six-week shoot began at the weekend and the film is due for release in May.
Pudsey and Ashleigh have become a hit around the world after they won Britain’s Got Talent, making appearances across the pond in The Jay Leno Show and America’s Got Talent.
