Date for reopening of Wellingborough train station car park
The North car park has been closed since June last year as part of the ongoing Stanton Cross development, and with the West car park partially closed for further work, spaces have been limited.
But a Network Rail spokesman says it is hoped the North car park, at the very end of the road coming into the station’s entrance, will reopen soon.

“Unfortunately during the project we have encountered some issues with the resurfacing of the car park.
“We are working with our partners to agree a timetable to do the work, and now plan to complete in the next few weeks with the aim to partially reopen the car park in early May and to have it fully reopen shortly afterwards.
“We apologise for the ongoing inconvenience and thank people for their patience while the work is carried out.”

Stanton Cross is a major residential-led development set to deliver 3,650 homes, 7,500 jobs, an enhanced train station, a country park, schools, a doctor’s surgery and shopping facilities for Wellingborough.
The development will be the largest growth the town has seen since the 1960s.
