A youngster who had a DVD player stolen while he and his mum shopped in Kettering has had the device replaced by Kettering’s Newlands Shopping Centre.

Samuel Clipstone, three, had the easy-to-operate DVD player bought by his mum Elaine Short as he has an underdeveloped right hand after being born with Poland Syndrome.

The Telegraph received several offers to replace the device after Samuel’s story featured two weeks ago.

Mum Elaine said she was very grateful to all those and thanked Newlands centre manager Neil Griffin.
