Woman sexually assaulted in town centre

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Abington Street, Northampton, some time between 12.40am and 1am on Monday (June 18).

A 27-year-old woman was walking along Abington Street when she was approached by two men.

One of the men placed his arm around her and attempted to walk alongside her, despite her objections.

He offered to get her some food, of which the victim refused to accept and attempted to walk off. The men then grabbed hold of the victim and sexually assaulted her.

The first offender was a tanned man, between 42 and 45-years-old, about 5ft 8in, of medium build, with short wavy black hair.

He wore a dark leather jacket which came just below his waist, blue jeans and black shoes.

The second offender was also a tanned man, about 38-years-old, about 5ft 8in, of skinny build, with short black hair which was cut shorter than the first offender.

He wore a black leather jacket which came past his waist.
