Woman grabbed and hand put over her mouth during terrifying robbery in Northamptonshire park

A woman was robbed in a recreation ground in Northamptonshire after a men grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth while another man stolen items from her bag.

The woman was walking through Far Cotton Recreation Ground in Towcester Road, Northampton, sometime between 9.15pm and 10pm on Saturday, January 16 when she was approached by two men.

One of the men grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth while the other emptied her bag and stole some of its contents.

The robbers then ran off in the direction of Queen Eleanor Road.

One of the robbers is described as white, about 5ft 10in tall and wearing a red hooded top with a large black Adidas symbol on the front.
