Wellingborough man placed on register for sex offenders

A Wellingborough man must pay his victim compensation after he admitted sexually assaulting her.

Chitranjan Patel, of Albert Road, was convicted at Northampton Magistrates' Court last month after he sexually touched a woman in the county in March last year.

Patel, 58, was ordered to pay £100 in compensation and will be on the register for sex offenders for five years.

He must also do 200 hours of unpaid work and take part in rehabilitation activities.

Patel will have to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £85.
