Wellingborough burglar sentenced to 23 months in jail
A burglar who stole a car after he broke into a house in Wellingborough has been sentenced to 23 months in jail.
Karl Bacon, of West Street, Wellingborough, appeared at Northampton Crown Court after he admitted a charge of burglary.
The court heard the victim of the burglary was now considering moving out of her home due to the psychological trauma of the crime.
His Honour Judge Michael Fowler said Bacon had numerous convictions for theft from shops but had not burgled a residential property before.
He sentenced Bacon, who pleaded guilty, to one year and 11 months in jail. He is likely to serve half his sentence before being released on bail.
