Burglars entered the property as the occupants were sleeping before making off with a silver ‘Links of London’ sweetie mini-bracelet and heart bracelet, a silver Florence motif bracelet, a Pandora crown ring and a rose-gold stacking ring.

Police did not say how the burglars gained entry but said officers have seen an increase in burglaries of this nature, especially during the warmer weather.

A force spokesman said: "Residents are reminded to secure windows and doors at night and to remove keys from easily accessible places and to keep them well hidden.

"Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 20000326580, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
