The police are warning owners of BMWs be take extra care after a spate of thefts.

There have been four thefts since Thursday (June 6), in Wollaston, Bozeat, Great Doddington and Earls Barton. The vehicles stolen have all been relatively new BMWs, and all have been stolen without car keys, and overnight.

Officers have been conducting extra patrols in the area and have issued the following advice: Keep your vehicle locked and secure; use a garage or driveway if you have one; if you have more than one vehicle and only one space – park your BMW in the space; consider the use of mechanical immobilisers, such as steering wheel locks; if you have more than one vehicle, block your BMW in.

People are asked to contact the police immediately if they see anyone loitering around a BMW or acting suspiciously.
