Victim awakes in her living room to stranger burgling her home in Duston

An elderly woman woke up in her home in Main Road, Duston to find a stranger in her living room, who - unknown to her - was in the middle of burgling her home.

This happened at around 6.30pm on Friday December 18 and, after the victim awoke, the stranger told her that he was there to help her.

He subsequently left and this was when the victim discovered that 17 packets of cigarettes and almost £200 was missing from her home.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “The suspect is described as being in his 30s or 40s, between 5ft 10in and 6ft, with an average build. He was clean shaven and wore a navy blue baseball cap, top and trousers which had the appearance of a uniform.”
