Police are hunting two men after a 23-year-old victim was left with a broken jaw during a daylight assault in Northampton.

Officers say the incident happened when the victim was approached by two men in Kennet Green, King's Heath, between 2pm and 2.15pm on Monday May 18,

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "One of the men punched the victim in the face twice and as a result he sustained a broken jaw.

"The offender is described as white and in his early 20s, about 6ft, of a medium build and had blond hair. The man he was with was also white and in his 20s, about 6ft, of a larger build with dark hair. Both men left the area on foot.

"We would ask anyone who may have information or may even have witnessed this incident to call us on 101 quoting reference number 20000258576."
